OAK BATHROOM VANITY & ASH FRAMED MIRROR

BESPOKE VANITY & TIMBER-FRAMED WALL MIRROR

The Opportunity

A new home build, going up in Mangawhai, the owners sought a bespoke-piece bathroom vanity and timber-framed wall mirror. This Italianesque baroque style vanity was to be American Oak timbers with a dark walnut stain and the mirror was to be American Ash.

The Action

Joey was engaged in the task and relished the opportunity to do some traditional woodwork. “I enjoy that style. A chance to put those fancy hand tools to use.”

Think cabriole legs and curved timber mouldings. Having drawn up a 3D model of the fit-out and agreed on stain colours through sampling, Joey began the build and installation phase.

Joey worked closely with the client to ensure the overall look would be as close to what they desired as possible. “I’d spent some time living in Italy myself so I drew on my first-hand experience of their architecture,” Joey says.

The Result

The result was a timber bathroom vanity and wall mirror that more than fit the bill for the owners and attracts plenty of compliments from visitors.

We get loads of compliments about it

“He did a beautiful vanity for our bathroom and we just love it. I just can’t speak highly enough of him. He drew up bespoke, one-off designs for our choosing and built and installed them precisely. We get loads of compliments about it.  Also a huge timber-framed mirror for our bathroom. He’s an incredibly talented guy.”
